Starting Points

Ben Jones is the Assistant Director of the Rock Ethics Institute and Associate Research Professor of Philosophy at Penn State University. On this episode of Political Theory Review, Jones discusses his new Cambridge University Press book, Apocalypse without God: Apocalyptic Thought, Ideal Politics, and the Limits of Utopian Hope. The book argues that “we can gain insight into apocalyptic thought through secular thinkers” and finds apocalyptic thought appealing due to its pairing of “crisis and utopia.” Listen to the full discussion below.
